Trader Arrival Information - Birmingham
HOW TO GET THERE
Address: The Custard Factory, Gibb Street, Birmingham, B9 4AA
There are a lot of road works on the main road to the car park. It can be difficult to see where to turn in for the car park. It looks like you cannot turn into it but you can. Please be cautious when approaching as to not miss the entrance.
PLEASE ALLOW FOR EXTRA TIME AS THERE ARE ROAD WORKS
SET UP TIMES
08:00am
Doors open to traders. You have two hours for all loading and setting up. Tables may not be set up in advance but will be there waiting for you to grab.
09:00am
Cut off arrival time for traders. It’s not enough time to get your stall set up before the fair opens*
10:00am
Doors open to customers.
4:00pm
Close of event. Traders must not start packing away before this time. Please pack away your own table.
5:30pm
Exit time. Any traders still in the building will get a fine from the venue (our venues charge per hour).
Please take all rubbish with you at the end. The venue hire doesn’t cover cleaning charges in order to keep the pitch fees as low as possible.
We have restriction on arrival time for the Fair Manager so tables may not be set up in advance but will be there waiting for you to grab if needs be.
Traders must be ready by opening time and not start packing away until closing time. It makes the whole event seem unprofessional and isn’t fair on customers. If the event isn’t set up on time, we can’t open as it contravenes our risk assessment and voids our insurance.
LOADING
The venue is a warehouse space in the centre of the busy Digbeth area. It’s a really great venue.
The venue is all ground-floor. There is 1 step on Floodgate Street entrance (please note we do not use this entrance but if you struggle to find any other entrance, please call the fair manager and we can let you in)
Please use Zellig Car Park (Postcode B9 4AT) for loading in & out, but please ensure that access is not blocked for other cars.
THIS IS A PRIVATE PAY AND DISPLAY CAR PARK IF YOU ARE NOT PARKING UP YOU MUST STILL PURCHASE A PARKING TICKET OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE FINED.
PARKING
There is parking available at Zellig Carpark (where you load in). This car park does NOT accept apple pay (unless this has changed since the last event).
There are also various Pay & Display car parks close to the venue – Trinity Street Car Park is the closest.
There is also plenty of free on-street parking around the venue.
More options can be found on Parkopedia below.
TABLES
Tables are not included in your pitch fee. If you have not hired a table in advance there will not be one waiting for you.
Please ensure that you do not exceed the pitch size you have purchased. There are 3 pitch sizes available: 3ftx6ft, 6ftx6ft and 12ftx6ft.
The floor plan is subject to change on the day. Stallholders cannot request specific locations – we rotate the floor plan in the interest of fairness to everyone.
When you arrive on the day there will be tables out for traders who paid for them. Please do not take one of these if you haven’t already paid for one. If you haven’t hired a table and are bringing your own you will find a gap – speak to the event manager if you have any questions or problems.
PROMOTION
As always, the event has been heavily advertised but we always appreciate any extra promotion, particularly on social media. Please tag us in any posts that you share about the event and we will repost where possible.
You can use the Facebook event page to invite local friends and fans, and share photos of the items you will be bringing.
WHAT TO BRING
CHAIRS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS VENUE – BRING YOUR OWN! It can also be very cold in the winter months so please layer up!!
You will need to bring your own table(s) unless you have bought one in advance when you booked the stall. Please do NOT bring a pasting table as they are likely to collapse.
You can bring tablecloths, mirrors, banners, flyers and business cards. Every item must be labelled with the price. Have a safe place to keep your valuables and money, preferably on your person.
Access to power is not always available and is at the venue’s discretion. If you would like power, please let us know in advance and we will try to position your stall near a socket. Bring an extension cord and some tape/matting to cover any loose wires. Your electrical devices must be PAT tested.
Please only bring the products as you have described in the application form. Stallholders may not bring different items unless they have received approval from the Craft & Flea team.
We do not allow: real fur; mass produced items; or items that may be seen as offensive.
FLOORPLAN
The floor plan will be sent out on the Thursday or Friday before the event. If you don’t receive the floor plan, don’t worry – the event manager will be able to direct anyone who is unsure of location.
The floor plan is subject to change on the day. Stallholders cannot request specific locations – we rotate the floor plan in the interest of fairness to everyone. Please do not take a table if you haven’t already paid for one.
