Vegan Market Trader Arrival Information - Birmingham - Secret Space
We're looking forward to our first Big Vegan Market in Birmingham! This is a venue that our sister markets (including Craft & Flea) have used frequently, but as it's our first time, and quite possibly yours too, please refer to the arrival info below!
HOW TO GET THERE
Address: Secret Space, 30-34 River St, Deritend, Birmingham, B5 5SA
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A CLEAN AIR ZONE IN BIRMINGHAM YOU CAN FIND MORE INFORMATION HERE:
https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20076/pollution/1763/a_clean_air_zone_for_birmingham

If arriving by train, the venue is a 10 minute walk from Moor St station.
SET UP TIMES
09:15am
Doors open to traders.
10:30am
Cut off arrival time for traders. It’s not enough time to get your stall set up before the fair opens*
11:00am
Doors open to customers.
4:00pm
Close of event. Traders must not start packing away before this time. Please pack away your own table.
5:30pm
Exit time. Any traders still in the building will get a fine from the venue (our venues charge per hour).
Please take all rubbish with you at the end. The venue hire doesn’t cover cleaning charges in order to keep the pitch fees as low as possible.
We have restriction on arrival time for the Fair Manager so tables may not be set up in advance but will be there waiting for you to grab if needs be.
Traders must be ready by opening time and not start packing away until closing time. It makes the whole event seem unprofessional and isn’t fair on customers. If the event isn’t set up on time, we can’t open as it contravenes our risk assessment and voids our insurance.
LOADING
The venue is a warehouse space in the centre of the busy Digbeth area, not far from the Custard Factory.
You will load in through the shutter at the front of the venue using ramp access. This is located on River Street, just off of Floodgate Street
PARKING
There is parking around the corner on Fazeley Street which has 65 spaces - this has no height restrictions.
There are also various Pay & Display car parks close to the venue – Trinity Street Car Park is the closest. You can also park at Zellig (the one at the back of the Custard factory; this is approx. 5mins walk away.
There are some on street parking spots, which are free on Sundays.
More options can be found on Parkopedia below.
TABLES
Tables are not included in your pitch fee. If you have not hired a table in advance there will not be one out waiting for you.
The venue will have some extra tables on the day, but these will need to be hired for £10 in cash, with permission granted from venue staff prior to using them. Please do not use them to display very heavy objects.
PROMOTION
As always, the event has been heavily advertised but we always appreciate any extra promotion, particularly on social media. Please tag us in any posts that you share about the event and we will repost where possible.
You can use the Facebook event page to invite local friends and fans, and share photos of the items you will be bringing.
WHAT TO BRING
You will need to bring your own table(s) unless you have bought one in advance when you booked the stall. Please do NOT bring a pasting table as they are likely to collapse.
You can bring tablecloths, mirrors, banners, flyers and business cards. Every item must be labelled with the price. Have a safe place to keep your valuables and money, preferably on your person.
Access to power is not always available and is at the venue’s discretion. If you would like power, please let us know in advance and we will try to position your stall near a socket. Bring an extension cord and some tape/matting to cover any loose wires. Your electrical devices must be PAT tested.
Please only bring the products as you have described in the application form. Stallholders may not bring different items unless they have received approval from the Craft & Flea team.
We do not allow: real fur; mass produced items; or items that may be seen as offensive.
FLOORPLAN
The floor plan will be sent out on the Thursday or Friday before the event. If you don’t receive the floor plan, don’t worry – the event manager will be able to direct anyone who is unsure of location.
The floor plan is subject to change on the day. Stallholders cannot request specific locations – we rotate the floor plan in the interest of fairness to everyone. Please do not take a table if you haven’t already paid for one.
Please ensure that you do not exceed the pitch size you have purchased. There are 3 pitch sizes available: 3ftx6ft, 6ftx6ft and 12ftx6ft.
If you haven’t hired a table and are bringing your own you will find a gap left for your pitch – speak to the event manager if you have any questions or problems.
FOOD & DRINK SELLERS
Food and drink sellers must have already emailed copies of food hygiene
certificates, public liability insurance, risk assessment and other relevant documentation. (If you applied via Eventaly you will have already provided this). You will not be able to trade on the day if you have not sent these to the office. You must display allergen information on your stall at the event.
Happy Trading!
